The competition is over, the winners are about to be announced. The Swedes are planning something... hm... what might it be? o:)

The place is cleaned, all the tables and chairs were put back to their places, as if, nothing ever happened.

I think it was a great competition, with many nice games. Thanks everybody and see you next year!!! ... But where...?

We played the quickest table game in the history with Sirpi.
After Sirpi's loop have been completed, i could also make mine, so the result was 22 to 24 for me after I used 3:53 minutes and Sirpi used 2:43.

2years ago we also played a 5+5=10 mins long game, but that was a draw: 30 to 30.

Well I've been watching the results roll in throughout the day, and I really wish I was over there with you all.

The competition looks like it has been fierce. Keep up the concentration everybody. I know Mikem must be dwindling about now ;-)

I hope Trouble has made lots of new friends over the weekend.

First Round is over

The first round is over, clocks are all fixed. :) Just don't press teh USER botton, even if the instructions say so. :)

Otehrwise, tempereture is great, bufe is excellent, ah and well, yes we have to play too.... This is not that important. ;-)

In 2010 WTO, they are participating:

4 out of top 10 players by alltime ranking

5 out of top 10 players by master ranking

7 out of top 10 players by table ELO

4 out of top 10 players by online ELO

6 players placed 1-10 in 2009 WTO

3 L8 players of 2009 WTC

5 L8 players of 2010 EURO including all semifinalists

7 L8 players of 2010 Hungarian championship including all semifinalists

Swiss format

Hi all.

WTO looks like a really good arrangement - both playing and social gathering! Let's see if I can find my football shoes...

If I got it right, we are going to use swiss format in this tournament. I really like the idea.
It will be the first time and I am looking forward to play it, and see how it works.
The result and parings will be a little different than swiss format in a chess tournament (where you get 1, 0.5 or 0 points) since we still will be counting TP:s (won't we?) to get the right order of the players.
I hope you have a special program for this, so everything will work smoothly.

PS. Before that I have to figure out which colour to play to win as much as possible :-)
